Brick NJ General Dentists Offers Fluoride Treament

Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay when used routinely in small amounts. It works by remineralizing teeth, disrupting bacteria’s ability to create acids, and making a tooth more cavity resistant.

Fluoride occurs naturally in water and is found in many different foods and dental products such as toothpaste, mouth rinses, gels, foams, and supplements. Fluoride is effective when combined with a healthy diet and good oral hygiene. As with many things in life, too much of any one thing is often harmful. The same concept exists with the use of fluoride. The AAPD has official recommendations for fluoride dosing which we follow in our office.
